York Scarves (UK, India - Fair Trade)
York Scarves - started on a market stall in 2004 to bring the delights of Indian Scarves to the people of Yorkshire - and now beyond.
York Scarves, set up by Chris Adby and still very much a small family business, deals almost exclusively with a small co-operative in Northern India.
This co-operative was actually started in 1977 and is built on the principle of a 'cottage industry' - some houses hold weaving looms, some specialise in dyeing; others in stitching and tasselling.
