Description
A very pretty pendant fashioned from a small obelisk of highly polished real stone which is attached to a 48cm long black cord to go round the neck. The clasp is a small metal carabiner lobster type.
Around the top of the obelisk is a metal band featuring a 'Greek Key Meander' pattern - these patterns were common for adornment in Greek and Roman architecture, paintings, pottery and mosaics, being symbols of eternity and unity.
Stone type is Howlite - a matt turquoise coloured stone with black striations.
The necklace is presented on a hanging card with a little note about the stone type printed on the back;
'Howlite is commonly used to make decorative objects such as small carvings or jewellery. Its porous texture lends itself to being dyed to imitate other minerals such as turquoise'
