Los Masis are a band that not only represent beautiful Bolivian folkloric music but also a culture and a way of life that involves keeping and fostering that culture, in their case, through their music.

The music on this CD is more than beautiful Bolivian folk music. It is music at the heart and from the heart of an ancient culture; the Yampara culture.
Los Masis are more than a superbly talented group of musicians. They are ambassadors for the Masis Cultural Centre in Bolivia.
The Masis Cultural Centre was set up by the people themselves to put the heart back into Andean communities threatened by socio-economic change.
Music is a central part of the organisation's work. The centre has, for example, organised musical groups in seven labourer's quarters giving, they say, music the 'prominent place it deserves in daily life'.
This music from the heart of the people is bound to touch the heart of the listener.
