Update on Rani from SOS Children's Villages, May 2011

Rani is a nice girl. She has grown cute, playful and friendly in nature. She is enjoying good health and is progressing well. As per medical reports her health status is normal. Her height is 3' 11" and weight 20kgs. She loves to greet guests and behaves decently with everybody. She loves all her siblings and mother in her family. She has three sisters and three brothers at home.

This year Rani has not shown much improvement in studies. She is not promoted to her next class. She is studying in Class 1 in the local Municipal School. She is weak in English. As she needs more concentration and attention in her studies, her mother and educators are continuously trying to counsel and support her.

At school, teachers are also helpful and are concerned about her progress.Presently she is concerned about her homework and is giving proper effort to complete them. Bengali is her favourite subject and English being difficult for her. In class she is well behaved and obedient.

Rani loves to eat normal Bengali food cooked by her mother. She prefers to eat sweet dishes. On holidays she loves to watch cartoon and animated films. She enjoys watching kids' movies, music reality shows, reading kids' books and listening to music. She plays with toys, carrom board and building blocks. She goes to play in the playfield in the evening.

She is practising yoga and dance in village. She participated in different group dances in programmes organized at village on SOS Day, Mother's Day and New Year's Celebration. She went to participate in yoga competitions this year.

Rani went with her peer groups to a park organized by her school. The school organized various group activities and games for the children. Rani spent the day enjoying various amusement items in the park. She also went for educational tours from school this year.
